i read that i can protect my hard drive so "format hd and write hd" not work by programming a "com" file but i found no example.
do you know how i can protect my hd and best unprotect it so no other program can format my hd ?

Because that is what your referencing. It's an old TSR trick to hook the IVT and filter the format or write requests.

This is not applicable to the modern OSes, because they communicate directly with the IDE controlers now, not the system's BIOS.

well if the only thing u want is to protect from com files inside windows, i should changed the registry so that every time a "com" file opened it would be open with notepad.. =)
but you can also load a dos-com file in autoecec.bat, but it will probably slow down you?r machine because it is 16-bit..
