Does anybody know what the "C0000005" error code is in windows.

I got this returned from a COM call. But im sure is not specific to this, and more general over all. However, i cant seem to find out what its trying to tell me here

Thanx in advance!

Hm. Hiro beat me to it (and my message got lost so i have to retype it... stupid IE)

yup... i got the message while initializing 3rd party ActiveX controls in VB and i think once /w MySQL (just running it). i knew the number looked familiar, but couldn't remember if it was a STOP message, like INACCESSABLE_BOOT_DEVICE or something

Thanx!

I got it now. I was trying to pass a BSTR into a COM object. However, i only formated it as WChar (as required) on my process stack, and didnt 'package' it with a call to SysAllocString.

I assume this sets the allocated memory for interprocess sharing (judging from the error message i got).
