radasm definitely is a step above the rest - the newest one, fresh download - I created a dialog and did the Tools/Dialog to Window, then created a window app using the DialogAsMain.rad template which compiled ok.. when I ran it, it seems the dialog controls are getting the messages but not the winproc hwnd itself.. what am I doing wrong?

It won't respond to the WM_CLOSE message or anything else applied to the form - perhaps it is in the getpeekmessage() part of it?

Hi drarem

Don't know what is going wrong.
Here is an example that works well.

Thanks for the sample... I see the difference, near the top of my asm program I have:

szWinClass db 'MYCLASS',0

In the dlg.rc program I didn't have a:

CLASS "MYCLASS"

I manually added it to my *dlg.rc program and did a Go/All... now it works fine.

You can add the class name in the dialog editor as well, just select your dialog and find Class in the properties window. Type the class name in there and it will be added to the rc automatically.
