How do I get Portalsearch toolbar unistalled off of XP ?
check in control panel>software or use adaware http://www.lavasoft.de
also look in C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files
this is were most forms of IE Plugins are stored...
also there is in the registeries
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Plugins
there is one other place but i cant remember... some programs also are stored in
C:\Program Files\Common Files
example Gator is stored in there and its self reinstaller...
you should check you startup folder in your start menu and also the registeries for run section
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
there is a couple more places to check like the temp folders and internet temp.. im sure people like to hide stuff in other areas also but this will give you a good chance i removing anything like that..

Hi Murphy,
Spybot Search and Destroy is an excellent (for me) supplement for Ad-Aware.
