is there any IDE or editor around that integrates with Intel C++ 7.x compiler that isn't MS VC++????

is this a question or means except this one? I dont believe that intel compiler will setup without VC in your harddisk. It is integrates itself to VC. So, go with VC++ ;)

Yes. The Intel C++ Compiler 7.1 does require MS VC6.0 or VC.NET professional or above to work. It doesn't provide an IDE or editor. To find more information, please check the ReleaseNotes coming with each package or at the Intel C++ Compiler's website http://developer.intel.com/software/products/compilers/cwin/. By the way: Intel C++ Compiler 8.0 seems to arrive somewhen begin of december including many bugfixes (inline assembly, .NET,...)
