When I try to blit a created surface (for example with IDirect3DDevice8.CreateImageSurface or IDirect3DDevice8.GetFrontBuffer) to IDirect3DDevice8.GetRenderTarget surface with IDirect3DDevice8.CopyRects, it returns invalid call error. I checked both surfaces, and they seem fine and have valid handles. Only one that does work is blitting IDirect3DDevice8.GetRenderTarget onto itself.
What might be problem?

are you locking them first?
