Is there any difference between masm 6.15 and masm 7.10.3077. All my examples compile well, but perhaps someone could answer if there are any improvements. thank you.

I suppose you do not play with mmx/sse/sse2 that's why you do not see the difference. Also if I am not wrong, some bugs are fixed.

i havent done mmx well. perhaps if some one could write a small tutorial on how i can use these features then i might regularly start using them. but i havent found much on mmx tutorials. anyway please let me know if you have mmx tutorials.

Did they fix the bug with declaring large arrays of structures in the BSS section ? I'm running 7.00.9466 and it is still present.

evil__donkey,

If I am not wrong,masm 8 is for coding 64-bit apps,no?
Posted on 2003-12-10 04:44:33 by Vortex
yes masm 8 includes support for 64-bit processors. Currently 64-bit registers are implemented as macros in some of the header include files that come with v7.10. If the env is 32-bit flat model then eax is selected otherwise ax, and so on...

Hi evil_donkey,

Could you possibly tell me where you got this version of MASM? I suppose it comes with .NET is it not?

Art
