I don't know how 'The Rising' works but you have the source code (asm) in the web page too, so you could download it instead of the binaries.

at a guess, its because the exe name is the same name as the virus (msmh.exe -> flooder.win32.msmh).. if thats the case i'd suggest using
a different virus scanner cos the one you have sounds pretty crap
