Hi,

is it possible to add a new section in RadAsm? If yes, how?

I tried to just write:

.whateversection

and put some data in there, but this was never found in the app!

I also searched the board, without success...

Hmm no compiler problems, but still no new section, even the data I entered in this new section isnt somewhere in the file...

This works for MASM, independently of the editor you use (RadAsm or any other):
.whatever segment

; put your data here...

.whatever ends

are you calling the new sections? or are they just there.

I am not calling them, cause at the moment, I just have data in there! Do I need to call them? I gotta check that!

EDIT: Hmm nope. He doesnt even accept the data or offsets of the new section. Compiling error, not knowing them...

Might help if you bothered to mention which assembler you are using, RadASM is simply an editor, sort of NotePad on steroids. Asking the syntax of adding a section in RadASM is like asking how to do it in NotePad. Perhaps instead of RadASM help you might look into the help file for your assembler.

 :alright:

Very funny donkey, that's probably the better definition of Radasm, I've ever heard. I wonder what Ketilo is thinking about

Take a look at http://www.asmcommunity.net/board/index.php?topic=12824&perpage=15&highlight=bss&pagenumber=2

and the post before it.

Usage of segment to declare your own sections in the PE (I assume that this is what you are seeking). Something like what QvasiModo is suggesting.

Hmm I found out why it hadnt worked! The definition must be BEFORE the real code section... Thats all! So

.code whatever

works just fine!

Thank you so much!
