Ok I'm really asking for problems here I know but I've gotten the cool GANT icon set from DeviantArt and want to set some of thse icons as my system ones.

So I got Resource Hacker and Replacer and used them to change the hard drive icon in shell32.dll. Odd thing is this works for Open File dialogs as seen in the pic but it doesn't work with standard explorer. Anyone know why?

i think the icons in the open file dialog are smaller icons than the ones displayed in the standard explorer window. usually they have three different sets of icons in the shell32.dll.

Well normal explorer windows can display different sized icons depending on veiw settings, in all cases the origional drive icon is used where for all view settings in the OpenFile dialog the new icon is shown :?

Hmm, after fiddling with icons sizes in display properties windows seems to have switched over and is now using the new icons, even when I put back the icons back to their origional size :?

Well at least its working...

It has to do with the "Icon Cache".
