Hi people, :D :D
Recently i replaced my Shell32.dll of Win98 by Win95 shell. After i replaced it, many programs doesn't work. Many errors messages appear.
I would like to know if it's possible and if someone wan't implement these functions in Win95 shell32.dll
I would like to much to use this shell. Think about it!!
I don't know programming
My OS is: Windows 98 without Internet Explorer, Windows media player, Explorer.exe and....
I use bbLean as shell and Xplorer2 as file manager.

Windows 98 is not dead. There are many projects for Win98 today, like Tihiy Revoltions pack that is finishing KernelXP project that will able Win98 to run programs that only run on XP

well, basically you'd have to add the missing exported functions to the dll.
but since

I don't know programming

you're pretty much screwed? ;)

I only would like to know if it's possible to add these functions Win95 shell32.dll  and if someone it's interested in to do this.
Is it hard to do this?
Where are the coders of this forum to answer my question?
I would like to much use Skype and others programs with this shell32.dll.

Well, everything is possible with time and patience.

Only problem is to find 1 person willing to do all that work for the satisfaction of you being able to run a windows 95 shell32.dll on a windows 98 computer.

I honestly am amazed by the sillyness of this whole idea.

Anyway, not to be discouraging - There's always RentACoder and the Masmforum I heard Hutch still runs a 95 box ;)

what exactly are you trying to do. do you just need those 2 apis that are in the 95 shell32? or more? i might be able to do it for you.

Hi Qages
do you just need those 2 apis that are in the 95 shell32?

These 2 Apis aren't in Win95 shell32.dll
Because of these missing apis in Win95 shell32.dll i can't run some programs like Skype, Total Uninstall IM2 Messenger and others
So i would like to know if you can include these functions in Win95 shell32.dll
What do you think?

IMHO it's a lot easier to just cut the crap and use the Win98 shell32.dll. Even if you reimplement the missing functions, what would be the advantage? I don't get it. :|

Yeah, I suppose. The next step would be extending the win32 support of Windows 3.11 to make it compatible with Win2K...
