As I understood, there is no description of partition tables. I am no EXACTLY sure, that this code is used as MBR (I have no direct access to HDD), but "by all rules" this must be the copy of MBR. Have no ideas how it works. May be, somebody has?

You say it's from a server... Win2000 or newer? Then it's probably using "dynamic disks" instead of the old-style partition format. (And before some l00nix people bitch at "proprietary micro$oft shit", it should be noted that the techonlogy was licensed from Veritas... which afaik does UNIX products.)

Does he own this server ? He only mentions having an "account". What possible reason
would he have for poking around with the mbr ?
