Maybe Squidges RTA 2.00 or Hiew could be of some help. I'm afraid you have to search for RTA yourself as I can't find a link not pointing to Reverse Engineering content hosting it. :-/

If your unsuccessful let me know and I up it somewhere.

DataRescue IDA Pro - the best disassembler of them all :). Perhaps these links still work: (, 3.7) (, 4.1)

You might be able to use something simpler, like the disassembler that comes with NASM... but bootsectors can be relatively tricky, so IDA is still the best bet.

I'm glad to see that IDA Pro is finally on simtel. A freeware version was released a long time ago, but was taken off the net due to bandwidth issues. I've not seen a download site for it since then, until now. :D

The .txt file with those two links was last modified 19th July, 2003... so it's been there for a while :P

For a MBR code, you could use Debug.exe.  Load at the right address, then u XXXX.
