Hi all,
I was wondering whether it is possible to run 64-bit code on a 32-bit O.S. I have an Athlon 64 but I run Windows XP non-64-bit version. Can I manually switch the processor mode?
Thanks,

i believe windoze doesn't let you do this. you probably need some emulation, or to get trial version of 64bit win :(

I very much doubt this is possible - you need to enable Long Mode to run 64bit code, and this can't be done from usermode. Even if you did it from kernelmode, you'd just get a crash unless you, like, disabled interrupts and did a lot of funny stuff.
Thanks for the information. I managed to get my hands on a Windows XP x64 from university. :D
SoftWire now has 64-bit support!
