hi, what datatype would be long in win32asm? or better, how many bytes has the datatype long?

Longs are 32bit signed integers, same as int on modern compilers. But longs are always 32bit, but int may be 16bit if you target 16bit apps I think!(?) :) Mirno

Safcon, In 32 bit, LONG is always 32 bit in size so in hex it is 00 00 00 00. In MASM the data type is DWORD that corresponds with the SIZE of the data. If you need to work with the signed/unsigned distinction, you will need to code it accordingly. Regards, hutch@pbq.com.au
