I have written a small text editor based RichEdit control (see text below). Program can open and save any file but when I open some large file (size > 32K) I can't insert into the text any symbol (but can delete and replace text!). May be somebody know what I am doing wrong and what's my problem? Thanks, Mike. **************** The beginning of RichEdit.asm ********************************* .386 .model flat, stdcall option casemap:none WinMain proto :DWORD,:DWORD,:DWORD,:DWORD include \masm32\include\windows.inc include \masm32\include\user32.inc include \masm32\include\kernel32.inc include \masm32\include\gdi32.inc include \masm32\include\comdlg32.inc includelib \masm32\lib\user32.lib includelib \masm32\lib\kernel32.lib includelib \masm32\lib\gdi32.lib includelib \masm32\lib\comdlg32.lib EditML PROTO :DWORD,:DWORD,:DWORD,:DWORD,:DWORD,:DWORD,:DWORD,:DWORD .const IDM_OPEN equ 1 IDM_SAVE equ 2 IDM_EXIT equ 9 MAXSIZE equ 260 MEMSIZE equ 65535 EditID equ 1 CFM_BACKCOLOR equ 04000000h .data ClassName db "Win32ASMEditClass",0 AppName db "Small Text Editor",0 EditClass db "edit",0 MenuName db "FirstMenu",0 ofn OPENFILENAME <> FilterString db "All files",0,"*.*",0 db "Text files",0,"*.txt",0,0 buffer db MAXSIZE dup(0) bytesread dd 0 .data? hInstance HINSTANCE ? Richedit starts out with a default text limit of 32767. You will need to send a message to the Richedit window to change the text limit after creation. INVOKE SendMessage, hREdit, EM_EXLIMITTEXT, 0, EditSize Where EditSize is the total limit of your text you want to be able to edit. Setting to zero will cause it to use the default limit. So It must actually be set.
