I have a big problem today due to my proxy server change to more secure.
It needs username and password !!!

It make me some annoy to enter the username and password everytime I open IE.
And it make the big problem with some nonstandard programs
which always return error due to the program did not response to proxy authentication requirement.
(Like my Java applet for stock realtime trading)

I plan to write the program to auto-correct this problem for all program that connect to the proxy.
It should correct the problem by auto login if proxy required.
Any ideas to help me?
May be I will hook the API wininet.dll by using proxy-dll technique???
But what function should I hook?
How can I check that the request URL need proxy authentication??

I would actually suggest using a (free) 3rd party proxy tool instead. Such tools allow you to automatically connect to the proxy with username/password, sort of a proxy within a proxy.

You should google up SocksCap. It automatically hooks an application's winsock functions and uses a proxy which you specify. It allows https, socks4 and socks5 with authentication.
