Hi all :D,
Im new to Assembly. I wanted to know if there are any resources for building something similar to:

http://www.emu8086.com/assembly_language_tutorial_assembler_reference/asm_tutorial_11.html

Where they have created a simple OS that loads from the floppy drive. As floppy drives are now virtually obselete - I wanted to know how I could do this with a USB stick. Is it possible?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Q

PS
I can understand someone saying that it might be too advanced for a beginner. But nevertheless I would be grateful if someone could point me to some resources on the net or a book regarding this (other than the link I have provided).

Thanks for the fantastic website!

It says that it only works for linux - do you know of any resources for a PC with Windows?

You may be able to bridge the gap with Cygwin.

Another alternative is GRUB4DOS/WINGRUB.
