Hi Ewayne

If it is hardware, driver or bad combination. Not easy to say. I have the same machines both at work and at home. They also has the same OS, and still behave different. My machine at work has a painting problem, but not as bad at Torch's problem.

To KetilO:

This is turning out to be quite a thread.

If your two xp machines behave differently, there
must be some difference somewhere.

How does the latest ResEdit test work on your xp
machine at home?

I think it will fix Torch's problem, but I haven't
heard back from him.

Hi Ewayne

Yes, this tread has kept us busy for a while now. Tried your last ResEdit on Win98 and WinXP. No paint problems. But I discoverd another bug. Nothing serious, so if it is difficult to fix, then dont care.

1. Draw a dialog
2. Draw a button
3. Make the dialog the selected
4. Click on button and drag so the tooltip is over the properties listbox. It repaints the properties of the button on top of the properties of the dialog.

To KetilO:

Hey that's kind of a neat bug, your not suppose to
do that.

I'll have to change the selection in the Combobox
and Listbox on left button down instead of button
up, that might take a couple of beers.:)

A bit of the topic.

How one could change a negative number to positive?
Posted on 2002-02-10 23:17:02 by forge
To forge:

There are several ways, this is one way.

mov eax, Value
.if sdword ptr eax < 0 ; Check for negative number
neg eax ; and invert the value
mov Value, eax

@@: neg number

May as well add this to our toolbox.
@ABS macro val:REQ

local negsign
neg val
js negsign
@ABS eax
@ABS MyFunkyValue

To KetilO and the rest:

This should fix the last minor bug you reported
KetilO, it only took one beer instead of two.

I made another change to ResEdit, it will now
create equates for the application program.

To eko:

See if this one brings the rectangles back.

Posted on 2002-02-11 11:54:58 by Ewayne
the rectangles back but in white :(
Posted on 2002-02-11 12:33:48 by eko
To eko:

What do you mean in white?

I'm drawing in black, I'm about ready to pull my
hair out.

It almost looks like your display is inverting
the colors.

Do the sizing handles have a black border around

I think I'll wait for Torch's test before I do

Posted on 2002-02-11 12:45:25 by Ewayne

Hi eko

Here is a creasy idea. What if I posted the source for the test app and told you what to play around with. Are you up to it?

Posted on 2002-02-11 13:10:29 by KetilO
To eko:

Ok then, lets do one step at a time.
