i wrote a small example below that displays my ip addrress. unfortuanaly this only works if your not networked and such so it doesnt display my isp issued ip address but only my network ip address. i need the ip issued from my isp so does anyone know how this is done?

Did you forget to attach it?

The best method IMO is to use iphlpapi and read the IPs of all adapters. But gethostbyname also returns a list with all the IPs so your ISP IP should be in the list as well.
