I think most people have figured out that you don't need to save registers because you're windowProc isn't called by dispatchMessage and is called directly from the message loop and hence doesn't need to preserve no stinking registers for dispatchMessage.
I think there's more to it than that, but I think that's the most important part.

It makes me feel like hacking dispatchMessage to figure out what it does exactly. But I'm not sure how to go about's that and I'm too lazy.
