Hi,

I would like to thank the following for testing AsmEdit:

Beyond 2000
BitMan

Sara

I've upgraded AsmEdit V4.2 to V4.3.
Below is a list of some of the new features.

1. You can now have up to 10 individual Bookmarks for each edit window.
2. Changed the properties list.
3. Fixed the memory leak while doing assemblies and links using Win9x, ME.
4. Cleared all heap resources on shut down.
5. Resource editor interface via the Tools Menu.
6. Visual aid when creating some window controls (Toolbar, Tab control, and Button)
the rest will come later via the Quick Code Toolbar.
7. The procedure name that your working in will display on the status bar.
8. Made several subtle changes from user input.
9. Made numerous fixes to AsmEdit and it's support programs.

You can go to my Web Site to download the complete package (Masm32V1.zip),
or the service package (SerPk02.zip).

Both are quite large because of the resource editor and additional programs.

You can use the service package if you have previously installed
the complete package dated 11-29-2001.

My Web Site is at:
http://asmedit.massmind.org/

Read the 05-31-2002 section of the Readme.txt file before installing.
Don't forget to run the standalone Setup program after installing.

Check on the Bug Fix download packages, they are updated
as soon as I or someone finds a bug and I fix it.

Thanks,

Ewayne

hi Ewayne

I downloaded both asmedit.zip and build.zip but when I open the build.exe nothing seams to happen
Posted on 2002-06-02 01:56:14 by Kudos
To Kudos:

The Build.exe is called within AsmEdit and still
nothing will happen if you do not have the
complete AsmEdit package installed.

You can accomplish that by either installing
the complete AsmEdit package (Masm32V1) or
updating a previously installed complete package
if dated 11-29-2001 with the service package
(SerPk02).

Let me know if you need any more help.

Hi Ewayne

Nice improvements fo an already great IDE, it just made the best better.

I like your visual aid programs for creating window controls, when will you
have the visual aid for all window controls?

BTW How did you fix the memory leak when assembling??
I though it was a MS problem?

I forgot to ask what were you trying to accomplish?

Did you mean Setup.exe instead of Build.exe?

Hi All,

I've received some e-mails about some minor bugs.

So on my Web Site, on the main page I have a bug
fix download area for all fixes after the
complete or service package dated 06-01-2002.

Just download and unpack the BugFix.zip and copy
the files to their appropriate directories.

Thanks,

Ewayne

Hi Ewayne,

Congratulations on your newest version 4.3, and I wanted to let you know that we very much appreciate your hard work and dedication to your project...one which many of us use constantly in our programming endeavors.

Now with the integrated Resource editor and Button/Toolbar/Tab visual aid creators, AsmEdit is allowing me to realize my GUI projects much more rapidly.

And I am very appreciative of your successful quest to conquer the long-standing and much written about memory leak problems that have plagued us for years.
:alright:

Thank you SIR, for a truly great IDE!! And for providing it with all the source code so that we may learn, alter, and contribute to its' evolvement.

hi Ewayne

No I meant build.exe. I thought this program had to be run to setup a build menu item that points to masm.

Sorry about the delay, I've been shooting bugs.

I have some work to do on the Toolbar program,
list all of the styles, etc.

After that I will start on the rest.

About the memory leak problem, you don't want to know.

Thanks,

To Kudos:

No the Setup program copies the initial files
from masm and sets the paths in the AsmEdit package.

You run the Setup program after you do a AsmEdit
installation or upgrade.

The Build program compiles, assembles, and links
your program project.

Thanks,

To All:

I've noticed that some folks are still going to
my old Web Sites for the downloads.

Don't go there the files are not updated and the
the bandwidth has been exceeded several times.

Go to my Web Site thats on this board at:

http://asmedit.massmind.org/

It has unlimited bandwidth and updated files.

Hi All,

I've added another Bug Fix package to my Web Site.

There are now two, FixAsm.zip for AsmEdit and
it's support programs and FixRes.zip for ResEdit.

These are all of the fixes since 06-01-2002.

Just download and unpack the FixAsm.zip and or
the FixRes.zip package(s) and copy the files to
their appropriate directories.

Thanks,

Ewayne

To Techno:

Strange I know it was tested with XP.

Do you have Hutch's package installed?

What is the Path that you installed AsmEdit in,
not that it should make any difference.

Are you sure the Setup program wasn't still
updating the paths.

Ewayne
Posted on 2002-06-04 16:25:18 by Ewayne
yes, installed hutch's but didn't like it so I NEVER uninstalled it.
I used the default path of this programming language.

I am positive it wasn't updating paths, even the hdd light didn't go on.

To Techno:

Your the first out of a hundred or so thats had
that problem.

Do me a favor load AsmEdit and then click on the
Main menu item Options>Settings>Change Default Settings.

Then tell me what the Directory path names are in
the Change Default Parameters dialog.

It might give me a clue on whats going on.

Did I used wrong? find next(F8), find previous(F9) doesn't have any effect. Btw, would be better if a shortcut and/or a menu exist for "Build" option.
