How do popup killers work on NT? If you send a WM_CLOSE to the window then dialog boxes appear to close (like those security warnings) but not IE windows. If you send a TerminateProcess call to the windows process then the popup as well as the windows that spawned it close. TerminateThread doesn't seem to have sufficient access rights. So...what works?
I remember that I have read from somewhere, that those popup killers work like a proxy. They get all the data before IE get it, so they can filter out all those popup codes. Ofcourse IE has to be configured to use that proxy.
Try sending a different message, like WM_QUIT to the window.
For whatever reason SendMessage WM_CLOSE doesn't work but PostMessage does.
