Hi there,

who can tell me more about the .lib file-format.
Do MASM use the same as TASM or NASM.

Regards,
Rob

Thanks,

a good source.

Maybe you know how it
looks like if the lib is already in binary form.

marsface, have you tried looking at ALINK source code? (link on my page) I don't remember what object file formats it supports, but it might have some info. NASM can produce different object formats - might want to look at that source. I know there is some docs around somewhere, but I just can't remember where? :(

wotsit doesn't have specs on the microsoft library format (which
isn't really microsofts, but the standard unix AR format).
I don't think it should be too hard to figure out, since the archive
format is 100% text :). Which is lame, but... oh well. (The object files
inside the archive obviously aren't 100% txt :).

Hi

i noticed it, wotsit.org don't have it.
I downloaded ALINK, (hint came form bitRAKE)
There is a c source, which do read the lib file
and analyses it.

ermmm... I didn't look for ALINK yet, but it has no docs nor info there (yet, as it looks).

I prefer the file's specs, but I haven't quite found one yet. (see this thread)

Thank you anyway.

Ps: ADMINS, I checked now that the link I just created above is a open-new-window link. Can I change that. May this be changed on the board? o: ) Please!? =D
