I brought some code from home to work, so I could test on win2k. Works fine at home, made zero changes to anything, but when I attempt to assemble : Compile works perfectly Link gives this : res\va.res : fatal error LNK1123: failure during conversion to COFF: file invalid or corrupt but the .res' format is fine, i can still load & edit it with my res editor, so what's wrong with link in win2k?
nm :) discovered cvtres :) hmm, wonder y win9x doesn't need it though *shrug*
Check your linker version. Old versions of link.exe may exist in the path. And it cannot handle the .res file thus cvtres.exe is necessary.
good point, found it :) thanks icz :)
