How come there seem to be so many ppl working on great 3D games in ASM, but no publically available sourcecode? I've tried reading some C++ sources on the subject, but found them almost impossible to read: C++ is tough, OPTIMIZED C++ is even tougher...

There plenty of source code out there. Check out Bizzare Creations for some great source and there you'll find a link to scalpers site (I think thats the name) he translated most of NeHe's early tutorials to MASM. In fact once you get the basics working the C++ tutorials on Nehe's site are easy to interept. And theres always my site SineWave for some OpenGL techniques
