Hi, WM_VSCROLL (vertical scroll) WM_HSCROLL (horizontal scroll) You should download the 'Win32 Programmer's Reference' if you don't have it. I didn't know the answer of your question but I 've just had a look at it.

vom-bonjour, of course i do have the programmers reference. i also already tried WM_VSCROLL. i just put a messagebox on the message, but the messagebox never appeared, so i thought that something has to be wrong. do you have an idea (or anybody else)? bye

Hmmm. I looked at a scrolling edit window using Spy++ and the message sent was :- WM_VSCROLL wParam=2 lParam=0 so it looks like they are being sent to me, what type of scroll do you have set? is it Auto VSCROLL or just SCROLLing? Umbongo p.s. ooh I just passed the 100 messages barrier - do I get a new title now I'm fed up with Code Worrier

i created the edit control like this:

EDITTEXT 2000,10,10,175,160,ES_MULTILINE | ES_READONLY | WS_VSCROLL
then i tried to call a messagebox on the WM_VSCROLL message in my dialog procedure, but nothing happens. bye
