Do I have to call Globallock() function before accessing the memory allocated with GlobalAlloc(GMEM_DISCARDABLE, size)?
What does GlobalAlloc return: a handle to the memory object or a pointer to the first byte of allocated memory, like with GMEM_FIXED flag set?
As to my understanding, I have to lock the movable memory only.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

GlobalAlloc is quite deprecated : use HeapAlloc using the process heap instead...
